Our world is in trouble. It`s a mess – destruction, distress and disconnectedness are just some of the challenges. Gianpiero said it well “we loose and find humanity every day”. It´s up to us to handle the challenges we face with humanity. It’s about crafting tomorrow at the intersection of human and technology. This year´s Global Peter Drucker Forum focussed on the next knowledge work and how we can manage for new levels of value creation and innovation.

We have to embrace the unknown and be able to adapt and learn continuously.
Unfortunately humans are no natural system thinkers. We like linear. But facing the reality means facing and anticipating complex scenarios.

One red thread of the Forum was the human-centered company. Music to my ears. A scarce resource for many people, especially knowledge workers is: paying attention and connection – like e.g. having a conversation. Both are essential for collaboration and sense making.

AI was of course a big topic in many panels. Slogans like “AI or die” show the pressure and dimensions of AI´s impact. But it also shows that we need to keep a clear mind:
What do we want AI to do?

What don´t we want AI to do?

It´s a human task to answer these questions because what is distinctively human compared to artificial intelligence? It is

1. Accountability
2. Ownership
3. Choice

Let´s use the crafts and knowledge we have in a smart and human way to craft better tomorrows together.
